I have been Ms-field-trip-o-rama these past two weeks. Last week I went to the zoo with Kitty's afternoon class and on a nature field trip with her morning class. This week I went to the Aquarium with the 1st graders at Jack's school. OH! I also finished the quilt I was making for Kitty's class. I'm at a loss for what to do next (I have an idea...) so I am giving myself a few days off to regroup. Below is a picture of a few of Jack's classmates and himself posing in front of some fish...
Below is Kitty with some of her classmates on their field trip...
Kitty's field trip was about water. There was a story about the lifecycle of a drop of water, then a cool game and lastly they got to wade through a stream. Everyone was prepared and had their boots on. I thought for sure Kitty was going to have a full body dunk because of the way she was gallivanting through the water. She ended up getting wet up to her waist... she didn't mind it at all. Below are two pictures of her with the stream:
At the Aquarium they have a beautiful mobile. It is silver and sparkly and moves while reflecting pink light. I took a picture, but I have not done it justice:
In some late breaking news, last night Thom and the kids were out in the yard. They heard a strange sound coming from the garage. Upon closer inspection, they found this:
Actually, there are two kittens in our garage. One of our cats, Solomon, was found in the garage 5 years ago. The kids are waging a campaign to keep at least one kitten. We already have 3 cats. More on this situation will be forthcoming as details are known.
