I am totally, shamelessly addicted to my new ipod touch. It is exactly like the iphone, but without the phone part. Thom decided it would be a good birthday/Christmas present for me... and bought it before both of those events under the guise of needing it for the car trip to Buffalo we'll be taking at Thanksgiving. Thom always is the driver because of his motion sickness issues and that means I am always the passenger. Unfortunately, I am not a good passenger, never have been. I flinch, I tell Thom where stop signs are, I hold the dashboard when I am sure something bad is about to happen, I mention casually that the car 3 cars ahead of us just put on their brakes. After awhile of this sort of thing, I get really cranky. I mean, REALLY cranky. Back when Thom and I were dating, I used to wear a blindfold when we were travelling on the highway... especially when driving to the airport because then there were 2 things I was anxious about: driving and flying. In the grand scheme of things, I think it is better that Thom isn't throwing up rather than have me drive. Sooooooo... that's why the new ipod. I've already downloaded all of season 2's Mad Men and look forward to watching them in the car. The things this little flat toy can do are astounding: I can check my email, surf the web, download videos and check facebook as long as I am in a wifi zone. Yesterday I went upstairs to take a nap and spent my time doing an application called 'Wurdle,' which is an addictive-Boggle-type game. Then, when I was done for the moment with that, I looked up Will i am's new video about Obama's win and sat in bed watching it with tears in my eyes. I must say that it is 'Wurdle' that has taken over my life. I keep saying, "Just one more game, just one more game." It reminds me of the time I got home from school and my mom was still in her pajamas playing 'Asteroids'... we had just gotten the Atari for Christmas.
I have the same addiction. That's great that it's going to help with the car. You sound like my sister when it comes to side seat driving.
