A typical scene in the playroom.
We got word yesterday that we got in to the preschool of our choice... I guess being on the waitlist sometimes pays off. It is especially wonderful news because Jack got in to the same class that my friend Renee's son Louis is in... hopefully, that will make the transition easier for Jack when the time comes.
Jack has developed some idiosyncratic 'needs.' The other morning (say, 4am) Jack climbed in to bed with us and then said, "These blankets aren't cuddly... I need cuddly blankets!" He was very upset and outraged about the state of our non-cuddly blankets. Thom took him back to his bed where he was reunited with his cuddly blankets. Last night I was lying with Jack as he fell asleep. He started saying, "I need more blankets!" When I got him his rocketship quilt, he said, "I need more and more and more and more and more blankets... WE FORGOT TO GET ME NEW WATER!" He then started crying... I quickly got him new water and within 5 minutes he was asleep. I think these demands come out of a semi-sleep state where he becomes slightly irrational just before falling in to a deep sleep.
Kitty is teething up a storm of drool and unhappy moods. Poor thing... I can't imagine how much it must hurt.
