Jack turned 8 on the 16th... 8!!!! We had another awesome birthday with Jack's three closest friends. We went to the Lego store and then came home for pizza, cake and playing. A party can really not not be fun when it starts at the Lego store.
Last week our washer stop spinning. I spent a long time starting the spin cycle and then throwing open the lid of the washer only to find no movement at all. I had a very nice repaiman tell me it was going to be $500 to fix it. I researched new washers using Consumer Reports, ordered it on-line from Lowe's and it was deliverd Tuesday at 1pm....18 hours after I had ordered it! I thought that was pretty amazing. The new washer has an electronic control panel and makes melodic beeping noises when you turn it on or when a load is done. I told Thom it is like playing a computer game! Makes doing laundry a whole lot more fun... also because it has a glass top lid. You can watch the laundry from start to finish. It is also one of these new 'he' type washers... the thing can spin up to 800rpms per minute! When your clothes come out they feel barely damp and that cuts down on dryer usage greatly.
Before Kitty was born my blog was on Live Journal. After I moved the blog to typepad, I had my live journal blog printed and bound in to a book. I've started reading it to Jack at snuggle time and he thinks it is the funniest thing he's ever heard. It's mostly about him, of course from about 6 months old to 2 years old. He loves hearing about all the funny things he did as a toddler. He told me I should get the book published, but I assured him that only a few people would really enjoy it.
When Kitty pulls her hair back from her face I think she looks just like she did as a baby. She didn't have much hair for a long time so I remember her early years with her having her well-shaped head showing all the time. Kitty now pulls her hair back from her face and says, "Baby Kitty!" whenever she wants to make me laugh.
